Mr. Battista concentrates his practice in real estate taxation, land use, regulatory matters and government representation. He formerly served the State of Illinois as the Deputy Director of the Property Tax Appeal Board. Mr. Battista served as an Assistant Attorney General representing Illinois in civil litigation matters. In 1987, he became Chief of Prosecutions of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation where he was responsible for enforcing statutes governing licensed professionals. Subsequently, Mr. Battista served as Counsel to the Chairman of the United States Railroad Retirement Board. Mr. Battista completed undergraduate and graduate studies at Western Illinois University and received his law degree in 1983 from Loyola University School of Law.
Mr. Battista holds membership in the Chicago Bar Association and serves in various leadership capacities in the Illinois State Bar Association and the Justinian Society of Lawyers. He has lectured frequently on matters covering trial advocacy, property tax appeals and administrative agency adjudication. Mr. Battista is licensed to practice law in Illinois as well as before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he is admitted to the Trial Bar and the United States Supreme Court.
